EDITING

Because you do not need to create a realistic world for the audience in a music video, we were able to apply elaborate, discontinuity editing to our video.

We also used rhythmic cutting to the beat of the song, which emphasised the different beats of the music and thus showcased the track. It also meant that the pace of the video fit with the slow tempo of the song, thus reflecting the dreamy mood of the piece.

Also, we had filmed some shots for the video in 50 fps and this allowed us to slow down certain shots during post production. This was effective because it meant we could slow down the movement in the video, giving it a more dreamy feel, which adheres to our artist's star image and sound. It also added to the sensual vibe of the video, for example the shot of Maia trailing her hand up her leg.

Another music video that also uses slowed down editing to create a dreamy, relaxed vibe is Hayley Kiyoko 's video for 'Sleepover', as shown below:
